Achilleas wreck

Achilleas wreck was a Greek cargo ship that sunk in 1975 after a mysterious explosion on its board. The vessel lies upside down. Most parts and a huge bronze propeller were towed and remain untouched while marine dwellers have turned most of the remnants into their home. Achilleas is one of most interesting dive sites that are located on the sandy bottom at 11m/36ft depth. Wreck is a popular place for divers of all qualification levels. It has plenty of sunlight and good visibility.

Location: Southwest side of Cyprus Island

Depth: 8-12m/26-39ft

Currents: 1-2knots

Visibility: 10-30m/32-98ft

Season for diving: All year round, although the best time for diving is from May to November. The average water temperature in summer is 32C/89F.
