Ahe Island / Indonesia

Whale Shark
Ahe is a small island in the Teluk Cenderawasih that is located 30km/18mi from the Naber City. It has only started to develop as a touristic spot. A small diving center Ahe Dive Resort Papua was recently built here.
Divers perform splendid dives during which there is 100% chance of seeing whale sharks. They swim to the floating platform, where local fishermen catch fish, and suck out small fish from the nets. According to the divers which have already visited this place, the whale sharks are not afraid of divers and don’t avoid to contact with them. That’s why there is an excellent chance of taking incredible underwater photos and study their behavior. It is possible to see simultaneously two and more representatives that reach 8-10m/26-33ft length.
