Apo Island / Philippines


Apo Island is a large rocky island of a volcanic origin. It is located between the southern part of Negros Island and Siquijor Island. Apo Island is the national reserve zone and it is famous for its soft and hard corals, superb visibility and abundance of fish.
As a rule Apo Island is visited during daily diving. Around the island there are 12 good dive sites and the most interesting ones are in the northern and eastern part of the island where the constant weak currents are present. For more experienced divers it is possible to perform fascinating drift diving along the currents.

Location: Sulu Sea, to the west of Mindoro Island

What to see: Almost always it is possible meet the schools of jackfish, turtles and with luck divers can spot large pelagic mantas.

Visibility: 10-30m/33-99ft

Season for diving: All year round. The most suitable time is from March till end of May.

The average water temperature is 26-31C/78-87F.
