Potato Cods

Cod Hole is one of the most popular dive sites of the Ribbons Reef. It is named after a large colony of Potato Cods. These are large fish that can reach 2m/7ft length and 100kg/220lbs weight. These dwellers have become practically tame after two decades of active visits. Feeding these fish is the main entertainment of Cod Hole.

Season for diving: All year round, but the best period is from the end of August to the beginning of December. The average water temperature is 22C/71F in winter and 29C/84F in summer.
