The sea mountain El Bajo is located 8.2km/5.1mi from Los Islotes. Three underwater peaks are located at some distance from each other and go 25,15,20m/82,49,65ft above the water surface. Main dives usually take place at the shallow waters near the central peak. This place is a home for hammerheads, so divers can spot up to 100 representatives of the species simultaneously. Swimming in schools they are not aggressive and, as usual, pay no attention to divers.

Location: the south-west of the Cortez Sea, to the north of La Paz

What to see: underwater peaks, hammerheads, amberjacks, tunny fish, octopuses, panamic green morays, giant mantas, whale sharks.

Season for diving: All year long. The warmest temperature is 27-30C/81-86F from August to September, while the coldest is 18-21C/64-70F from January to February.
