Lhaviyani Atoll
Lhaviyani Atoll, situated 120km/75mi to the north of Male, consists of 63 islands, most of which are concentrated around the barrier reef 30km/18mi from Seylhifushi island. It is one of the most beautiful dive sites in the Maldives, recognized by divers as the best place for deep-water dives. It has perfect conditions for snorkeling and diving, available even for novices. Other water sports attracting people to this place are windsurfing, sailing and fishing.
Kuredu island is one of the most popular islands of this atoll. It is remarkable by its underwater caves covered with coral rocks. Divers are strongly recommended to dive there with an experienced instructor because of the threat of large sharks.
