Mae Haad / Thailand

Mae Haad is a popular dive site with an abundance of hard and soft corals. The dives are relatively shallow, till 16m/52ft. The place has perfect conditions for close camera shots. It is possible to dive from both the shore and boat.
This dive site can be visited together with Koh Ma (a national resort that has a variety of sea dwellers), as they are located near each other in the same bay.

Location: western part of the Gulf of Thailand, to the south west of Koh Tao Island

What to see: Underwater life has plenty of species, starting with nudibranches and finishing with barracudas. There are also plenty of reef fish here.

Currents: none

Visibility: 5-10m/16-32ft

Season for diving: All year round, but the best conditions are from May to September. The average water temperature is 26-30C/79-86F
