Mioskon Reef / Indonesia

Mioskon Reef is an excellent dive site that is located in the Dampier Strait to the south of the Kabui Bay. The dives are performed in the south-east edge of the reef – the sandy slope with coral formations that descends to 18-20m/59-66ft. Here are various sea dwellers and many places for macro photography. Drift diving is possible here. The dive site is recommended for experienced divers.

Location: West Papua, Indonesia

What to see: Divers can find here schools of snappers, fusiliers, jackfish, sweetlips fish, butterflyfish, angelfish, groupers, batfish, anthiases, plataxes, wrasses, parrotfish, surgeonfish, triggerfish, boxfish, Blenniuses, gobies, morays, seahorses etc. Soft corals swing in tact with the current that is near the shores.

Currents: 2-3knots

Visibility: max 20m/66ft

Season for diving: All year round. Water temperature ranges between 26-30C/79-86F.
