Punta Lobos / Mexico

Punta Lobos, @ Sebastian Herbi
Punta Lobos or La Loberita used to be a colony of sea lions with almost 150 representatives. During winter storms one might face strong northern winds there, perhaps that is why sea lions have abandoned the place. This is a unique dive site where the underwater boulders go down to 13-27m/42-88ft depth.
Here divers can drift along the currents and enjoy sea landscape with local flora and fauna. At the end of the spring mobula mantas visit the site and for some time they can even hide the sun grouping into thousands, like a squadron. It is truly one of the most fascinating dive sites in the whole Cortez Sea.
