Flying Fish reef / Turkey

Flying fish reef is one of the most popular dive sites and avia wrecks in Turkey. The reef got its name due to Savoia Marchetti SM79 plane that is also known as “Hawk”. It was hit during the WWII. The missiles are cast around the wreck, but they still pose the threat. The plane is slowly sinking into the sand. The wreck is located at 60m/196ft depth.
There is also a shallow coral reef. Its upper part runs close to the water surface just at 4m/13ft depth. It is better to explore the reef in the morning.
Currents here can be rather strong that increases the number of fish but makes the diving more difficult. It is recommended for experienced divers only.
