Sail rock / Thailand

Sail Rock is a rock, the peak of which rises 15m/49ft above the water and its footing goes 45m/147ft underwater. Sail rock is located between Ko Pangan and Ko Tao islands. This dive site is known for its natural crack that can be entered at 6m/19ft and exited at 18m/59ft depth.

Location: western part of the Gulf of Thailand, to the north of Koh Phangan Island

What to see: Pelagic fish are the most frequent visitors of the dive place: barracudas, large schools of mackerels, jackfish, Jack mackerels, tunas etc. During the season there is a high probability to spot a whale shark.

Depth: 6-45m/19-147ft

Currents: 1-2knots

Visibility: 5-30m/16-98ft

Season for diving: All year round, although it’s more comfortable to dive from March to September. The average water temperature is 26C-29C/78-84F
