Light cruiser “Karlsruhe” is one of the most destructed and damaged ships in Scapa Flow region. However, this wreck is non less attractive for divers. On the contrary, some of the vessel’s sections, that are usually not available at other wrecks, can be explored here. The explosion seriously damaged the cruiser and the most valuable parts were lifted onto the surface. The remnants and fragments can give a detailed explanation of the vessel’s functioning.
The size of the vessel is 112×12×6m/367×39×19ft.

What to see: The magnificence of the wreck, its massive anchors, deck guns, Armoured Control Tower, boiler rooms, huge steam pipes, engine room, stern section etc.

Season for diving: The best time is from March to September. The average water temperature is between 5-12C/41-54F.
